Uncomfortably Comfy Couch LLC

Nervous-System Aware Training for Families, Schools, Workplaces & Couples

Coming January 2026

On-demand video trainings that help you understand the nervous system, neurodivergence, anxiety and trauma — so you can create safer, more connected homes, classrooms, workplaces and relationships.

Why “Uncomfortably Comfy” Trainings?

Get comfortable with what feels uncomfortable — so real change can happen.

Most of us were never taught how our nervous system works, what neurodivergence actually means in day-to-day life, or how trauma and anxiety show up in our relationships, schools, and workplaces.

Uncomfortably Comfy trainings are designed to be:

  • Nervous-system informed – grounded in how real human bodies respond to stress and safety.

  • Neurodivergence-affirming – honoring different brains and sensory needs, not trying to “fix” them.

  • Shame-sensitive – no pathologizing, no “you’re doing it wrong,” just real talk and practical tools.

  • Relationship-focused – whether it’s a family, a team, a classroom, or a couple, the relationship is the client.

Each series includes short, digestible video lessons, reflection prompts, and concrete practices you can start using right away.

How the Trainings Work

Start with Foundations
Every series is built on a short “Core Foundations” mini-course that explains nervous system basics and neurodivergence in clear, accessible language.

  1. Choose Your Track(s)
Pick the track that fits your context — families, neurodivergent kids, schools, workplaces, or couples. You can purchase individually or bundle multiple series.

  2. Watch On Your Own Time
Videos are pre-recorded so you can pause, revisit, or watch with your partner, team, or staff when it works for you.

  3. Apply What You Learn
Each module offers simple scripts, examples, and experiments for real life — not just theory.

Choose Your Track

  • Regulated Parenting: Nervous-System–Aware Co‑Parenting

A short series for caregivers who feel stuck in power struggles, shutdowns, or chronic guilt. You’ll learn how your nervous system and your child’s interact, how to co‑parent even when you disagree, and how to repair when things go sideways. This isn’t about perfect parenting — it’s about building safer, more connected relationships.

    What you’ll learn

    • How to recognize when you’re outside your window of tolerance

    • Why kids’ “big behaviors” are often nervous‑system signals, not defiance

    • Practical ways to co‑parent as a team, even when you’re both activated

    • Scripts and structures for rupture and repair with your child

Warm, pragmatic, and trauma‑informed support so you can move from reactivity to connection.

  • Neurodivergent Kids, Safer Homes

This series supports caregivers of neurodivergent children—diagnosed or suspected—who are worn out by constant conflict, shame, and the “why can’t you just…?” moments. Learn to read behavior through a sensory and nervous-system lens, work with your child’s brain instead of against it, and advocate confidently with schools and providers.

  • When Our Nervous Systems Collide: Couples, Anxiety & Trauma

This series is for couples who feel stuck in repeating arguments, shutdowns, or distance — especially when anxiety, trauma, or depression are in the mix. Instead of “who’s the problem,” you’ll learn to see your patterns through a nervous-system and attachment lens, and practice new ways of reaching for each other.

    What you’ll learn:

    • How each partner’s nervous system reacts under stress

    • Common patterns (pursue/withdraw, shutdown, over-functioning) and how to interrupt them

    • How to co-regulate without turning your partner into your therapist

What it looks like inside the member area

Each module has its own page with an embedded YouTube video, key takeaways, and reflection prompts. Only logged-in members of that training can see these pages.

Module 1 – Your Nervous System

In this module, we introduce the nervous system, the window of tolerance, and why fight/flight/freeze/fawn responses are normal human reactions — not personal failures.

Reflection prompts:

  • What does your “I’m getting overwhelmed” signal feel like in your body?
  • Which situations with your child / partner / students / team tend to push you out of your window of tolerance?
  • What’s one small regulation tool you’re willing to experiment with this week?
